Forest and meadows in Massif des Bauges Natural Park

 

When i made this image of Bellecombe en Bauges village, i was standing in some green meadows under a very cloudy sky.
Just for a few minutes, the sun lighted the forest just near and i just had the time to run a little through the fields and make this image.

Bellecombe en Bauges is one of the numerous villages in Massif des Bauges Natural Park. It's located in the mountains of Savoie department but is also very close to Haute Savoie.

Sillingy is a little village in Haute Savoie department. Although it's just near Annecy (the big city), its close surroundings are still quiet and green.

I arrived there in the early morning a few days ago, expecting some nice springtime scenes in the meadows but the rain arrived with me. I had to find a bridge to protect myself during about half an hour. When the weather became temporarily better i could have a short walk and the sun was kind enough to light this beautiful field during a few minutes.

Two days ago i was caught by the rain while making images of the rural landscape around Annecy.
I first found a little forest to protect myself but the rain didn't stop and i drove back. As i was close to home, the rain disapeared and i found this beautiful path i had never seen before. I stopped for a few images and couldn't resit to a little exploration.

A few weeks ago i was thinking we wouldn't have any mist this autumn. I started to change my mind while doing the image in my previous post but the mist was still a little far. A few minutes later i was just into, for a short time ...

First snow in Haute Savoie

For a few days we have some unusual early snow falls here.
I went yesterday morning for a little hike in the rural landscape around my home and went back with a few images.
I like this one with the village but also did some other ones of the trees with their orange leaves covered by snow.

I had a long drive yesterday through the mountains of Haut Jura Natural Park.

My first idea was to explore the higher part of Semine river valley near Belleydoux.
Arrived there, i found a very dull light and a little rain. The valley here looks like to a deep canyon and i think it needs more exploration to find some very interesting points of vue. After a few images i went back to my car and drove deeper in the park.
It led me to the village of Les Bouchoux where i found a beautiful and warm light until the end of the day.

I first noticed this view with the church framed by the trees of the beautiful hedgerow during a walk with my daughter. I just returned yesterday after the rain with a camera.

Another image from this morning i spent in the snow about 10 days ago.
Sun and clouds played during a short time until clouds won.

I left home in the early morning under a white sky after a snowy night.
After a short walk in the deep fresh snow, i arrived in the vineyards. While i was trying to find some interesting points of view without leaving too much footprints in the landscape, the sun shortly popped through the clouds and lit the field with this beautiful light.
I just had the time to make 2 images of this scene : this one and a vertical version.

Today, i woke up before dawn, decided to go for a photographic hike on Vuache mountain.

After a few steps in my garden, i had to change my mind : snow was higher than my knees and climbing the mountain was not the best idea. So, i went for a walk in my close neighborhood. After somes images of snow over the meadows, trees and vineyards, i took my longer lens and turned it to the hill of Musièges village.
