River greenery
Fornant river running under the wood between Chaumont and Frangy.
Without all the rain we had in july and august, this place wouldn't be so beautiful in the last week of summer.

Forest path to Fornant river
A few days ago, i managed to return to a recently discovered place on Fornant river.
The little hike through the forest was on a pretty underwood path and was as beautiful as the river itself.

Old branches in the forest
On monday morning i returned to Arcine with some images in mind. As often, wheather near Rhône river was not what i expected and compromised my ideas.
After seriously thinking driving back home immediately, i went for a forest walk and ended with a few interesting photos.

Léaz is a little village in Ain department, overhanging Rhône river.
I had there a beautiful walk with my daughter, starting from the village and going to the river through a very beautiful forest.

Is summer really the worst season for landscape photography ?
If we beleive the current trend on photo sharing sites , only dramatic lights photographed with a wide lens worth a shutter click and summer is the worst season for landscape photograhy : No gold colors in the forest, blue sky over the landscapes, low water level in the rivers, wild flowers gone, etc ...
I won't fight this trend and i also like such images but i truely beleive that landscape photography isn't just that and can be done in every season.
- Summers are not all the sames : the past 2 months here were more rainy and cold than springtime.
- Forests are beautiful and interesting to photograph although not beein orange dressed.
- Landscapes can be beautiful under a pure blue sky. If you are not pleased with your wide lens, try a longer one for a more intimate scene.
- If you're not afraid with leaving your bed really soon and retreiving it really late, summer dawns and dusks are often amazing. Better, summer is a good time for camping or sleeping under the stars.

Gold on Rhône river
Yesterday morning i returned to Arcine for some new images of Rhône river.
I spent the first hour of soft light with photos of the nice forest on the river banks and when the light became too strong, i stayed a little and played with the reflections on the water.

Snapshots from Tournon sur Rhône
On our way to Ardèche plateau, we stopped in Tournon sur Rhône, an old city with very nice monuments along Rhône river which is here the limit between Drôme and Ardèche departments.
After an short walk in the streets, we spent a few hours visiting an interesting art exhibition in the local museum.
