In the first days of october i had a drive through the Alps to see à little lake i had heard about.
Once arrived, i discovered that the lake had just been emptied out because some work had to be done on the dam.
Disapointed, i had a look to the map and saw another lake not too far in Montriond.
This one was not empty but the water level was very low because of summer drieness and the surface looked like a field of green algae.
Usual readers will certainly recognize this view.
I had images of this lake in summer and autumn, this one is just from a few days ago.
Dusk light on Geneva lake from the pier in Thonon les Bains.
I usually avoid cities and crowds but when went to Thonon les Bains some weeks ago i had in mind to make pictures of some natural beaches and of the pier. So i left my car in the city and had a very nice (and long walk) along the lake.
This the end of the long deck i've shown about one week ago.
Most of of the was spent under a white dull light but blue hour was beautiful.

Thonon les Bains is a french city along Geneva lake. I was there one week ago and found these remains of an ancient deck standing in the water.
Diomaz river runs in the mountains around Bellevaux above Lake Vallon.
I returned there last week, two years after my first visit and was really amazed by the beautiful autumn colors. I spent the afternoon walking around the lake and in the forest and ended at night with the only light of my headlamp.

Another view of Vallon lake and Roc d'Enfer mountain by a sunny summer afternoon.
Vallon lake in Bellevaux was created in 1943 by a huge landslip from a surrounding mountain which created a natural dam on Brevon river.
It is located in the mountains of french Chablais (NE par of Haute-Savoie department) and is surrounded by a beautiful mountain forest.
The mountain nicely reflected on the water is the Roc d'Enfer (Hell's Rock) and has an elevation of about 2 200m.
I spent the afternoon yesterday hiking around the lake under an amazing blue sky. I made a few images although it was not my favorite light but i'm sure the place worth another visit by a cloudy autumn day or better in winter.
An image from March, very similar to this one posted some time ago.
But if the first one was done with the Hoya ND 400 filter, this one was done without any filter and has a really shorter exposure.
On both images, I love how the houses are reflected on the water and how sky and lake meet and blend together.
