Another one just processed from our 2 months trip in Corsica last year.
Images of Corsica, the beautiful french mediterranean island. Photos of waterfalls, rivers, villages and cities.

Running water in Abatesco river near Pietrapola i Bagni
The Abatesco river in Corsica, just under the village of Pietrapola i Bagni.
One of the 8 images i've added this morning on my french website about Corsica rivers.
Pietrapola i Bagni - Corsica
I had a few time today to process some old images from our 2 months trip in Corsica last year. This image is one of the 13 i've just added to my french website.
Pierapola i Bagni is a village in the Abatesco valley and is known for it hot springs. We spent a few days around this place before leaving the island.
Winter mood in Tagnone river - Corsica
I made this image about one year ago while we were spending more than 2 months on Corsica island.
We had a really rainy weather during our staying there and that was not good for my usual landscape work but i spent a long time exploring this river just near our house. There was a very special mood in that place, making some friends feeling uncomfortable and i think that's why i really love this image ...
Note : Click on the photo to see it large :)
Some minutes ago, i was browsing and sorting some old images on my computer and then i found this forgotten one. Beleive it or not but all the colors are real (as much as something can be real in a photograph) and the incredible sky is due to the outstanding wind that was blowing this evening in the Corsica mountains.
Corsica - Saparelle waterfall
ABOUT THIS IMAGE :
A reminder from our trip in Corsica during the past winter.
You can see more of these streams and waterfalls if you look this blog for the Corsica tag.
SOME NEWS FROM HAUTE SAVOIE :
I just had some few times online since my previous post here.
The weather changed once more. After the huge snow falls of the first days of december, we had some heavy rain and all the snow is now gone. So, photographic conditions are really less exciting.
I hope to be able in the next days to publish some older images of trees in the mist and also one or two of Annecy lake ...
Corsica - Corte by a winter morning
Done by tone mapping with Photomatix,an HDR image produced from 3 exposures.
This kind of photo can of course be done without any HDR process but i love the tone mapping effect with this kind of mood. And applying tone mapping to a real HDR image gives a better file quality than on a single exposure. So ...
Corte, the citadel and the city
Another very high definition image done by stitching 6 vertical images with PTGui.
Corte, the citadel hit by the light
We are now back in Provence for about one week. I've started to setup a new galery on my french website with some images from Corsica. You can have a look here.
Corsica - Corte in the morning clouds
Some words about the making of :
This is an HDR panorama made from 6 frames with three exposures for each frames so 18 images done with a long lens where used to produce this one. The result is an about 24 megapixels file.
As most often when shooting for HDR with a long lens i used a remotre controler plus mirror lockup instead of the intervalometer function of my camera, it avoids vibrations.
The nef files where first converted to 48 bits tif files with Silkypix. The only adjustments done here where just white balance and sharpening. For color and tones i prefer to work on the entire image.
The tif files where then stitched into a real HDR file with PTGui pro.
The HDR file was tonemapped in Photomatix, i find it easier than tonemapping in PTGui.
The tonemapped resulting tif file was lastely processed with SilkyPix for tones and colors adjustments.
Note : my general tips for HDR landscapes are here.
Eucalyptus forest in the morning light - Corsica
We are now living our last days in Corsica. Our friends will be back from their trip on Friday and we'll give them back their house. Then we'll spent a few more days exploring the island with the van and at the end on march we'll go back to Provence.
Although the bad weather didn't help my photographic work, we enjoyed every minute here and are ready to come back :)
Corte, the citadel, the mountains and the clouds
On wednesday, i drove before dawn to Corte expecting a good weather but the first morning hours were very cloudy with a few drops of rain.
I ran around the city with my van, searching for nice point of views, caught some images in the overcast mood and some hours later when i was about to come back, the sun suddenly came and let me make some other images in a more clear atmosphere.
A peaceful morning at Casabianda beach
For about one week we have a decent weather. So past monday i decided an early visit to the sea. Wake up before dawn, drive to the coast and 3 km walk to the beach.
Casabianda beach is an endless white sand beach. I guess it's not to much known by tourists because it's on the land of a penitentiary ... Walking there at dawn was a little strange ...
