I usually avoid cities and crowds but when went to Thonon les Bains some weeks ago i had in mind to make pictures of some natural beaches and of the pier. So i left my car in the city and had a very nice (and long walk) along the lake.

Mostly known for the lake and old city, Annecy also has some modern architecture, sometimes just near some very old buildings.
I had a short walk in the streets by a cloudy day of december and ended with a few images i find interesting.

It was a cold and grey autumn sunday. I wasn't inspired by the natural landscape auround my home, didn't want to drive too far, so i went for a city walk in Annecy and ended with a few images of architecture from different ages.

Snapshots from Tournon sur Rhône

On our way to Ardèche plateau, we stopped in Tournon sur Rhône, an old city with very nice monuments along Rhône river which is here the limit between Drôme and Ardèche departments.
After an short walk in the streets, we spent a few hours visiting an interesting art exhibition in the local museum.

A closer view of Saint Claude with its cathedral and some old houses.
The cathedral is more than 8 centuries old and has a very long name : Cathédrale Saint Pierre, Saint Paul et Saint André.
The Maison du Peuple that you can see in the foreground is also an old building used today as a cinema. You can read more (in french) about its history here.

Palazzo Reale could be translated in Royal Castle. I think this italian monument was built in century 17.

River Bienne comes from Jura mountains near Prémanon and joins river Tacon near Saint Claude. Just before the junction, it runs through the city which has many big or small bridges.
