A walk in the forest

Yesterday after a few shots in the chapel i spent a few times in the deep forest around the Chartreuse de la Verne.
On this near only real path i took 2 identical photos and processed the 2 files very differently.

Once I walked through a forest
With wizards and with dames
Through the dark and beaten paths
All roads...they looked the same!

'Til we saw a castle
Half on earth, half in the clouds
I heard trumpets, I heard whistles
And all sorts of unearthly sounds!

-Patrick, your photographs inspire me to poetry!

Your work (as far as I've seen) looks fantastic in color and I wouldn't change that, but for this one I think I like the B&W version. I know you shoot RAW, so maybe play with taking the exposure way down and the contrast up to give it a more moody, dark feeling?.. just a thought since you seemed to be in an experimental mood anyway;)

Charity,
Thank's for posting your poetry here.
I was offline during the week end and reading my mails yesterday evening i found one from a french poet who uses my images to illustrate her poems on her blog.

Mark,
I'm always glad to see your comments here. As you say i'm in an experimental mood and in fact i've always tried this image in black and white. I've spend a long time working on it on friday but i'm still not happy with it. Some tones problems with the trunk in the foreground (on the left). When i'll have someting correct i'll post it here. I'm not sure you have seen them but in the autumn i've posted 2 b&w images and if you have a few time i would be very pleased to have your comments about them. You can find them here and here.
