Big sky over the sea, other versions should come

Big sky over the Mediterranean sea
Big sky over the Mediterranean sea

One image from monday evening.

The sky is an HDR work from 4 exposures, softly tonemapped and the ground and sea is from one of these four exposures.

I also have another one done with a HOYA ND 400 filter giving a really other look to the sky (and of course to the sea). I'll try to post it in the next days.

Another one that takes me away to good sea feelings instantly!

Nice control of the sky with the HDR. Unlike most doing HDR, i like your use of it in just bringing out the detail and controlling overall exposure rather than having it look insanely over done.
Great composition and touches of vibrant color.
Nicely done

Patrick, thank you for visiting me! I haven't heard from you in so long, I thought you were angry with me for some reason! :(

I love this photo... I feel like if I were in a boat on the waves near to the horizon, I could stand up, and touch the clouds in the sky with my fingers... :)

That's the kind of sky photographers pray for, isn't it? I think you have the same type of coastal climate as I do here.. the sky is often either pure blue or total gray... stormy and multi-layered like this is rare. Good that you had time to get out and catch it. Beautiful.

Thank you Mark,

As we are both self employed i guess we could find some common points in our schedules. We never have time but sometimes we must take some time :)

This monday was an office work day and in the afternoon i had a long phone call with a friend photographer and while speaking with him i was looking outside and seeing the cloudy sky. So in the end of afternnon i decided to drive to the sea although it's about a 1 hour drive. Finding time for more far travels are more difficult these days ...
