Massif des Bauges Natural Park

Massif des Bauges is a french natural park created in 1995.
It includes some parts of two departments Savoie and Haute Savoie.
It's mostly a mountains region with quaint villages, rural landscapes and rivers.

One of the main rivers is river Chéran which starts in Savoie mountains and goes to river Fier in Haute Savoie. It's known to carry some gold.

Farming and tourism are two important activities for local people.
The park is very appreciated by tourists in all seasons for skiing, hiking and local food.
